The work of the Dhulikhel-Sanga road section under the Araniko highway, which is being upgraded, has been stopped due to rain. According to the project, the work will be resumed after the end of the monsoon.

In the Pulbazar area of the road section, work has been stopped for four months due to the obstruction of the locals, according to the Suryavinayak-Dhulikhel, Dhulikhel-Sindhuli-Bardibas road project under the road department. According to the project, although one kilometer of the main road has been paved in Dhulikhel, it has not been possible to pave more due to rain.

Project engineer Bishnu Prasad Khanal has informed that although all the materials are ready, the road from Dhulikhel to Banepa and one kilometer road in Janagal area of Banepa could not be paved due to rain. According to

Khanal, along with road expansion, about 50 electric poles have to be removed in Banepa area and the removal of one house in 28 kilo area has also been stopped. Even though the sewerage works of about one kilometer of road from Chandeshwari river to Banepa Chardobato in the eastern part of Banepa city, the work has been completely stopped due to rain.

The extension work has been stopped for four months due to the obstruction of the locals regarding the issue of 'Center Line' in Pulbazar area. Even though there is 75/75 feet right and left (total 150 feet) jurisdiction from the center line, the dispute has arisen because the locals have demanded that the houses on both sides be equally separated saying that the work is being done only on 140 feet.

According to the design of the road, there should be equal separation from the middle part, but the construction work has been started, but the construction work has been stopped because the locals have taken the stand that the distance should be equal, Khanal said. It is said that although discussions have been held between the people's representatives of Banepa Municipality and the locals along with the stakeholders, no conclusion has been reached.

It is said that with the obstruction of the locals, the work of removing the houses and roofs within the standards, moving the electric poles, removing the optical fibers and high-tension poles has also been stopped. Because of this, the construction work has stopped even in the main city area of Banepa.

Meanwhile, the work of extending the road from Suryavinayak in Bhaktapur to Dhulikhel in Kavrepalanchok to six lanes under the Arani highway has not been completed within the stipulated time. According to the project, it is seen that the work cannot be completed within the remaining period of about six months.

vs. The construction of this 16 km long road, which was started on 24 January 2079, was started with the goal of completing it within 36 months. The road was divided into two sections namely Suryavinayak-Sanga and Sanga-Dhulikhel and the contract was signed.

At present, the construction work of both sections is said to be about 50 percent complete. Under the first phase, an agreement has been signed for the expansion of the 8.4 km road from Sanga to Dhulikhel at a cost of Rs. According to Sajna Adhikari, senior divisional engineer and information officer of the

project, it seems that the work will not be completed on time, so the time has come to be extended. According to the official, the work has also been delayed due to demolition of houses and roofs within the standards, removal of trees, replacement of electric poles and optical fiber cables.

Similarly, it has been reported that the work has been delayed due to the dispute over the bridge and private houses in the Sanga-Dhulikhel section, and the houses within the standards could not be removed. It is estimated that about 65 percent of the physical construction work will be completed within the stipulated time.
