The State Order and Good Governance Committee has requested the National Assembly to remove the 'cooling off period' provision in the Federal Civil Bill.
The committee has requested Speaker Devraj Ghimire to form an inquiry committee regarding the inclusion in the bill's report of the provision that 'cooling off period' cannot be implemented. In the meeting of the
committee on Wednesday, it was discussed that the provision of 'cooling off period' is not applicable. Then the committee made two decisions. In the request made by the State Government to the National Assembly, it is said, 'It has been decided to sincerely request the National Assembly to make necessary amendments to point 43 of the report in accordance with the sentiments passed by the committee regarding the cooling off period.' The Speaker has been requested to investigate who played a role in making the decision made by the
committee ineffective. "As the committee's Secretariat, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and the representatives of the Ministry of Law wrote the language in order to deactivate the report of the bill, it was seen as conspiratorial and malicious in terms of law making, so it was decided to request the Speaker of the Federal Parliament to arrange for a high-level parliamentary committee to investigate the mistakes or crimes committed by any person in the said work," the decision of the committee said.
