Speaker of National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal has said that MPs should be responsible for their role. He also said that parliamentarians and the government should be serious about making the parliament effective.

Speaker Dahal said that after MPs raise people's problems in the parliament meeting, the ministers will respond, but they should also pay attention to issues that do not solve the problem. He said that the role of the MP should not be limited to taking the budget to the parliamentary constituencies.

He added, "Government needs to be serious about timely addressing the problems of the people raised by MPs in the Parliament and being accountable to the Parliament".
