The parliamentary hearing committee has heard the proposed two judges of the Supreme Court. The committee heard senior advocate Meghraj Pokharel and Chief Justice Srikant Paudel of Janakpur High Court today.
During the hearing, the members of the committee questioned how legal professionals who have worked as supporters of political parties for a long time can administer justice fairly.
Committee member Janardan Sharma explained the principles and Stating that there is a big difference between the practical practice, he told the reality that development work has been affected when the courts have given judgments against the principle of separation of powers.
Another member, Shyam Kumar Ghimire, commented that the tendency of judges to ignore political cases has increased.
committee members Mahesh Kumar Bartaila, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki Dolprasad (DP) Aryal, Jagprasad Sharma, Leela Shrestha and Sunita Baral asked the judges various questions. They suggested that the person in the leadership of the Supreme Court Bar would be the judge of the Supreme Court, and the impartiality and morality of the justice would be his jewel, so special attention should be paid to it. They also emphasized that judges should be presented in a ruthless manner to maintain good governance in the court.
The names of senior advocate Pokharel, Judge Paudel and another judge Shantisingh Thapa and the name of Mahesh Kumar Nepali, a member of the Judicial Council, have been sent from the Prime Minister for parliamentary hearing.
