A special court has ordered the release of former Communications Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, who was involved in the Teramox corruption case, on bail. The bench of special court judges Tejnarayan Singh Rai, Ram Bahadur Thapa and Vidur Koirala ordered Basnet to be released on a bail of 2.5 million on Sunday.

Congress MP Basnet, who was suspended in the corruption case, appeared in court today for a statement. After his statement and arrest, the court ordered him to be released on bail. A corruption case has been filed against him in the Nepal Telecommunication Authority's purchase of Terramax technology.

The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has filed a corruption case against 16 individuals and two companies, including Basnet and former law secretary Dhanraj Gyawali, in the scam of purchasing Terramax technology equipment for the authority.
