National Disaster Management Council meeting chaired by Acting Prime Minister Singh

The National Disaster Management Council has decided to take necessary precautions to make the pre-warning after the weather forecast effective, taking into account the disaster risk.

The council meeting held at the Ministry of Urban Development under the chairmanship of Acting Prime Minister Prakashman Singh on Sunday took this decision, taking into account the possible risk after the rains that have been happening in many parts of the country for the past few days. 

Council meeting has decided not to drive vehicles at night in places of risk, inform local residents to be safe during heavy rains and around the area, arrange weather bulletins and broadcast information through local FM and social media and arrange immediate arrangements for reporting in disaster-affected areas to rescue disaster-affected people . 

Acting Prime Minister Singh urged that there should be no reduction in the necessary preparations for the protection of the lives of the citizens during the rainy season and emphasized that the concerned agencies should be on high alert . He said that if the forecast after the weather forecast can be made effective, damage from disasters can be prevented. In the

meeting, Acting Prime Minister Singh also got information about the preparations being made, taking into account the possible risks of the rainy season. During that time, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and the road department were informed about the preparations being made. He urged all concerned agencies to pay attention to the weather forecast and make early warning effective in places where there is a risk and to be prepared so that they can face the risk. At the

meeting, Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar said that considering the possible risk, all the three security agencies are on alert, the army and private sector helicopters are also in readiness in case of disaster. He informed that instructions have been sent that according to the weather forecast, not to operate the vehicles on the dangerous roads, if the vehicles are running and if something happens, the chief district officer of the respective district and the police in charge of the last check post have been sent. Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal said that the weather forecast is correct now and the related agencies have been put on alert accordingly.
