Congress convention should be held by November 2083: Koirala

Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has said that the party's convention should be held within December 2083.

Talking to the journalists here today, he said that the party officials have not yet shown the will to do it during the convention itself. He said that the workers are worried that the date of the convention will be shifted due to this.

Stating that General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa and himself are now at the same place, he mentioned that he is capable of moving forward by uniting everyone including the party chairman in the convention. On a different occasion, he said that it is necessary for the government and the opposition parties to hold discussions to end the deadlock in the parliament.

He said, 'We should move forward with the opposition as well. If you can take the Maoists with you, you should take the RSVP and the RPP too.' He said that it was his understanding that the RSVP and RPRPA wanted the committee to be formed under the leadership of the former Chief Justice rather than the resignation of the Home Minister.
