Nepal should benefit from the development of India and China: Former President Bhandari

Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has emphasized on the need to strengthen the harmonious relations between India and China. She also said that more and more countries should benefit from the development made by both countries.

In a program organized by Madan Bhandari Foundation on the occasion of Madan Bhandari's 74th birth anniversary on Saturday, she said that the obligation to make the people happy and the nation prosperous by building socialism based on social justice and equality has not yet been fulfilled. Former President Bhandari said that after a long political transition, the basis of the success achieved in moving the country forward on the path of economic prosperity was the guidance of the people's multi-party democracy. 

His statement was that Jabaj is equally relevant for the socio-economic transformation of the country. 

Senior Vice President of UML Ishwar Pokharle said that 'prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali' is the socialism of the Nepali 'model' envisioned by the multi-party democracy of the people. He said that the democratization of party life is an integral part of the job. 

On that occasion, this year's 'Madan Bhandari National Award' was awarded to Angchiring Sherpa, a tourism businessman. was Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli gave the prize worth one lakh.
