An 11-year-old girl was gang-raped and murdered in the forest of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-5 Chyangdi. According to District Police Office Sindhupalchok, an 11-year-old girl was gang-raped and killed after consuming drugs and marijuana.
'Soon after the incident Five people have been arrested on the charge of murder,'' said Rameshwar Karki, the police chief of district police Sindhupalchok.
According to the police, those arrested are 21-year-old Nima Tenzing Tamang, 22-year-old Wangnima Tamang, 32-year-old Namgyal Sherpa, 20-year-old Dawa Tamang and 22-year-old Lakpa Pasang Tamang. According to the District Police Office, Nima is the girl's cousin's son and all of them are residents of the same village. All the five people involved in the incident were arrested by the police on Friday and made public through a press conference.
'It has been confirmed that the girl was forcibly killed,' said DSP Madhavraj Kharel. The girl went missing on the night of June 10. The next morning at 9:30 am, his body was found in a forest clearing. Sane Sherpa, a resident, said that the locals who had gone to the forest to pick mushrooms informed the police after seeing them.
The girl was called to a bari about 400 meters away from her house and the five men gang-raped and killed her in a statement to the police. The police also say that after the body got stuck in a tree, it was thrown on the head with a stone. A trained dog was also used for
research. The police team recovered material related to the crime while searching the house of the accused.
'The girl's body has been sent to the teaching hospital for post-mortem and further investigations are being carried out,' said DSP Kharel. He said that the investigation into the crime of extortion and death is continuing after extending the deadline. The girl's parents were working abroad, so the girl was staying at home with her sisters and cousins.
