7 complaints have been filed in the parliamentary hearing committee against the three judges and one member of the judicial council proposed as Supreme Court judges.
Five complaints have been filed against Mahesh Kumar Nepal, proposed as a member of the Judicial Council, while two other complaints have been filed against the proposed judge. In the meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee held at Singha Darbar on Thursday, Chairman of the Committee Ishwaridevi Neupane informed about the complaint.
The names of Meghraj Pokharel, Srikant Paudel and Shantisingh Thapa have been proposed for the post of judges of the Supreme Court, while the name of Mahesh Kumar Nepal has been proposed for the post of member of the Judicial Council.
committee chairperson Neupane said that the committee has prepared an agenda by calling all the complainants to a meeting on Friday. Also, there is an agenda to listen to and hear the proposed action plans of judges Pokharel, Paudel and Thapa in the committee meeting on June 15.
She said, 'There is an agenda to call the complainants in the meeting on the 13th and listen to the complaints and on the 15th to call the recommended members of the Judicial Council and the people who have been recommended to the Supreme Court judges and hear their action plans. Then the decision is made on the same day. If the decision cannot be made that day, it may be the next day.
