Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the police administration is the face of the government.

Speaking at the meeting of the State Order and Good Governance Committee on Wednesday, he said that the police and law and order will be linked to each other and insisted that the police is the first thing that the people look at the work of the government. He said that if the police work well, the people will accept the government's work well. However, he said that although the past experiences of the police were good at the leadership level, they were not good at the lower level. He said that since there are bitter experiences in the field, the bill to amend the Nepal Police Law along with measures to prevent it should be forwarded.

President Dahal said, 'It is about strengthening democracy and providing services to the people. When talking about the police and peace and security, the first face of the government that people see is the police. That also came up. Our experience is not so good. Talking at the upper leadership level seems to be correct. The experiences of going to the field below are very bitter experiences. It should be revised to see what can be done to stop it.'

Chairman Dahal said that the debate should be carried forward as a basis for reforming the republic. A theoretical discussion was held in the committee today on the bill to amend the Nepal Police Law.
