Biratnagar Metropolitan Corporation has released a budget of Rs. 4.4 billion for the next financial year 2082/83. In the 16th session of Municipal Assembly held here today, Deputy Chief Shilpa Nirala Karki announced the budget giving priority to infrastructure development, ward level planning and social sector.

Budget resources include federal government financial equalization grants of Rs 343.4 million, provincial government financial equalization grants of Rs 362 million 30 thousand, value added tax from revenue sharing revenue of Rs 150 million 39 million, excise duty of Rs 5 million 13 million, entertainment  It is estimated that Rs.1 million will be received from advertising tax, Rs.38 million from vehicle tax, and Rs.946 million from real estate registration.

Similarly, one billion 40 million rupees towards internal revenue, the federal government conditional  And the supplementary grant is Rs 83 crore 34 lakh, provincial government conditional grant is Rs 4 crore 23 lakh 67 thousand, Road Board Nepal is Rs 1 crore 5 lakh, other organizations are Rs 16 lakh, cash balance is Rs 14 crore and it is estimated to be Rs 4 billion 4 lakh. 

In addition to office operation and administrative expenses, Rs. 64 crore 75 lakhs, Rs. 5 crores have been allocated for loan principal and interest payments, and Rs.

Similarly, 62 million rupees have been allocated for supplementary plans for physical infrastructure, 70 million rupees for five-year contracts and projects that come under the guise of responsibilities, 10 million rupees for the maintenance of various roads in the city, 26 million rupees for wastewater treatment centers, 2 million rupees for electrification programs, 165 million rupees for building codes and construction permits, 10 million 27 million 12 thousand rupees for road infrastructure and settlement development.

The Metropolitan Municipality has continued the 'Chori Bachau, Chhori Padhau' program. It has continued to provide free ambulance for pregnant women, senior citizens and disabled people to go to the hospital and hearse services for the residents of Biratnagar. 

With the basic slogan of 'one house, one job', the program of creating an environment of employment by conducting free training and preparatory classes for the target groups in various fields, encouraging the residents of the city to establish industries based on innovation, managing the necessary capital, continuing the metropolitan job fair and creating more jobs, and developing the historical Biratraja's palace area as a tourist destination has been continued.

The Bright Biratnagar campaign has been continued within the metropolis, while the policy program and budget to manage the manpower, equipment and physical materials required for the effective operation of street lights are mentioned in the budget. It is mentioned in the policy and program that internal income will be increased by conducting tax payer education campaign with the slogan 'Tax is not by tax, pay by desire'.
