The Cabinet meeting has formed a high-level investigation committee under the leadership of former National Security Adviser Shankardas Vairagi to investigate the issue of visit visas and immigration at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The cabinet meeting held on Monday at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, formed a 'high-level study and investigation committee on immigration and visit visa' under the leadership of Vairagi, who is also the former chief secretary. A minister informed that there will be joint secretaries of various ministries in the
committee. A high-level investigation committee has been constituted with the joint secretaries of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Labour, Federal Affairs and Foreign Affairs as members. The minister informed that the
committee was given a mandate of 3 months.
On May 30, two points were agreed upon between the ruling party and the main opposition regarding the investigation of the visit visa case . RASPA and RPP have been obstructing the parliament by demanding a high-level investigation committee or a judicial commission to investigate the matter.
