Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a briefing on Sunday with the officials of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply and related agencies regarding the gas extraction of Dailekh and the production of Dhowadi iron ore mine in East Nawalparasi.

Prime Minister Oli was briefed on the results of the petroleum exploration work completed with the financial and technical support of the Chinese government and the future course of action in the discussion held at the Prime Minister's Residence, Baluwatar. According to the preliminary report received from the China Geological Survey, natural methane gas reserves of 112.1 billion cubic meters have been found at the current drill site and it is estimated that there are gas reserves in other areas as well.

Likewise, Prime Minister Oli has been informed about the feasibility of drilling and iron mining in East Nawalparasi by Dhowadi Iron Company Limited and the process is progressing. The company informed that about 99 million tons of iron ore reserves can be mined for the next hundred years. The company says that iron/steel can be produced within the year 2085 through regular processes. 

Prime Minister Oli gave instructions to seriously start the production of methane gas so that it can be put into use within one year and made it clear that there will be no shortage of the necessary budget and facilitation from the government. 

Similarly, Prime Minister Oli instructed to prepare before 2085 to produce iron/steel and bring it to sale and use. of that work  He clarified that the government will make all arrangements for resources, means and legal facilitation. Prime Minister Oli's chief adviser Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari, MPs from Dailekh and others participated in the

discussion.
