Minister Dr. Rana requested the Government of India to rescue the Nepalis in Iran due to the Israel-Iran war that has been going on for a few days now. For this purpose, Minister Dr. Rana also instructed the Nepali Ambassador to India, Dr. Shankar Sharma, to make the necessary coordination.
After the Indian Embassy in Iran accepted Nepal's request, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today asked the Nepalis in Iran to contact the Indian Embassy and the Indian Embassy in Iran has also issued the same notice.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lok Bahadur Paudel Chhetri, is contacting and coordinating with the Nepalis there and the DCM of the Indian Embassy in Iran, Rakhi Mayuri.
Along with this, the Indian embassy has also asked Nepal and Sri Lankan citizens there to get in touch. Out of 16 Nepalis, five Nepalis are in Iranian prisons due to immigration laws, so the ministry is continuing the initiative to free them from prison and return them to their country.
