Request to make necessary preparations for the support of Nepalis in Israel and Iran

The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has decided to request the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make necessary preparations for the safety of Nepalese workers and to reduce potential risks due to the current situation between Israel and Iran.

The meeting of stakeholders chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Krishnahari Puskar, decided to update the details of Nepali citizens in Israel, Iran and the affected neighboring countries through the Nepali Mission.

The meeting has decided to issue appropriate consultation and travel information in coordination with the Nepali Mission, taking into account the necessary safety of the citizens who are employed abroad. The decision of the meeting is to prepare for the situation where the Nepalis in Israel, Iran and the affected neighboring countries need to be brought back to their country from relief and rescue, and if the transit of a third country has to be used, it is decided to coordinate with the neighboring countries to take initiatives for rescue.  The

meeting has recommended the mobilization of the Labor Immigration and Foreign Employment Problem Solving Task Force under the coordination of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to act as an emergency response team.

It has been decided to request the relevant agencies to take necessary initiatives through security diplomacy for the safety and support of Nepali citizens in the related countries, and to request the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to arrange additional fee discounts for Nepalis going to Israel, Iran and affected neighboring countries for foreign employment.

Secretary Puskar informed that the meeting has instructed to prepare and submit the statistics of Nepali citizens who are currently employed abroad in Israel, Iran and other affected neighboring countries after taking labor permits and submitting them to the ministry. The

meeting has instructed the Foreign Employment Department, Foreign Employment Board and Social Security Fund to prepare for the emergency and to expand 'virtual' and 'telemedicine' services to provide mental health counseling services for Nepali citizens in Israel, Iran and affected neighboring countries. The

ministry has requested to take necessary precautions according to the information issued by the respective countries and the government of Nepal.
