The Public Service Commission is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its establishment today by organizing various programs as 'Diamond Festival'. The Commission has completed various additional programs including eye camps, blood donation, talent awards, etc. throughout the week.
According to the Constitution of Nepal, the commission is responsible for conducting the written examination for filling the posts in the civil service, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and other federal government services. The diamond festival program will be organized in all the offices of the commission, including the central office, which has three offices in Kathmandu and 11 offices outside Kathmandu.
The diamond festival ceremony was organized under the chief hospitality of President Ramchandra Paudel, the Commission said. A program has been decided to carry forward the festival in an orderly manner with various programs throughout the year. The Commission has been making recommendations for the recruitment of manpower during government service entry.
Commission's spokesperson Geethakumari Homegai said that the Commission's logo will be used on the occasion of the Diamond Festival and it will work throughout the year is. Appreciating the contribution of Bhuwanman Singh Pradhan, who served in the commission for nearly 30 years, the 'hall' in the central office of the commission has been named after him.
