In the last 24 hours, 18 people were injured due to lightning strikes in different areas of Nepal. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 18 people were injured by lightning across the country.
Authority spokesperson Ram Bahadur KC said that there were lightning incidents in Sankhuwasabha, Makwanpur, Syangja, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Rolpa, Dang and Salyan. According to him, eight people were injured in Rolpa alone. Six children were injured when lightning struck the premises of Balakalyan Mavi here, while two others were injured when lightning struck a house in Dafla of Triveni Rural Municipality of Rolpa.
Two people were injured by lightning in Makwanpur's Raksirang, two in Pyuthan's Airavati rural municipality, and two in Dang's Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city. According to him, one person/one was injured by lightning in Silichong Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha, Galyang Municipality of Syangja, Malarani Rural Municipality of Arghakhanchi and Triveni Rural Municipality of Salyan.
Similarly, according to the authority, one person was injured in Rasuwa due to a lake and two were injured in Rupandehi due to fire. KC, the spokesperson of the authority, also informed that there were 30 disaster incidents in different districts.
