Tinkune Incident: 7 people including Durga Prasai ordered to be detained, 32 released on bail

On the 15th of March, 7 people who were present in the court were ordered to be detained on the charge of being involved in the violent demonstration of monarchy supporters in Tinkune, Kathmandu. The bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Dhruvraj Karki late on Thursday ordered the detention of 7 people and the release of 32 people on bail.

District Court Information Officer Deepak Kumar Shrestha informed that an order has been made to detain Durga Prasad Prasain known as Janakmander, Saroj Gautam known as Tara Rajawadi, Gokarna Shahi known as Anup Rajawadi, Dandpani Regmi, Keshav Basnet, Kumar Tamang and Sushil Baral.

The public prosecutor's office prepared separate indictments of 50 and 11 persons including Prasai and filed a case on 11th of June according to Section 32 of the Civil Criminal Procedure Code, 2074 . Among them, 11 people had already been released after demanding bail under criminal nuisance . The court made this decision after the statements of the 50 people present and the closed debate. 

RPPA senior vice president Ravindra Mishra, RPPA general minister and MP Dhaval Shamsher Rana and 11 people missing from the attendance are now not in touch. Mishra and Jabra have been kept as fugitive defendants by the court as they were not present in the court. Before this, the police has also initiated the process of legal action against those who fail to appear. For those who have been ordered to be released on bail, a bail of Rs 10,000 to 1 lakh has been demanded.  

Deputy Superintendent of Police Prahlad Karki, Police Inspector Wangel Lama, Pappukumar Das, Senior Deputy Inspector of Police Bishnu Khatiwada, Vijay Shahi, Deputy Inspector of Police Arjun Setthi, Senior Constable Bishnu Sapkota, working in District Police Complex Bhadrakali Kathmandu, filed a case against the Government of Nepal and 50 people including Durga Prasai as defendants for treason, criminal nuisance, duty of care, killing industry and organized crime. was . Preparations are underway to file a case in the juvenile court against the four children who were involved in the violent demonstration.

Abhinuj Television journalist Suresh Rajak and 29-year-old Savin Maharjan of Kirtipur-4 were killed when the three-corner protest turned violent, while 20 others were injured by police firing. None of the people who were shot were protesters.

3 people who were injured in the shooting are still undergoing treatment . Rebika Khatri of Udaipur who was shot in the thigh, Dilliprasad Luintel of Bhojpur who was shot in the stomach and Ramhari (Ridam) Shrestha of Kavre who was shot in the arm are undergoing treatment. According to the police data, 56 houses, institutions and offices were vandalized and set on fire during the demonstration.

15 private houses, 37 private institutions (two media houses, one super market, two hospitals, four banks, two cooperatives, 20 businesses, one school, two party offices and three offices), one industry, two police offices and a traffic island were damaged. 69 vehicles were damaged in the arson and vandalism during the demonstration. Among them, 63 are four-wheelers and 6 are two-wheelers . The police said that CCTV and other physical things were also damaged.
