7 people who were ordered to be detained by the Kathmandu District Court in the Tinkun incident have been sent to Dillibazar Jail on Friday.
Durga Prasad Prasai, Tara Rajawadi alias Saroj Gautam, Anup Rajawadi alias Gokarna Shahi, Dandpani Regmi, Keshav Basnet, Kumar Tamang and Sushil Baral, who were charged with involvement in the violent demonstration of monarchy supporters in Kathmandu on March 15, were taken to jail.
According to Baburam Aryal, Jail Administrator of Dillibazar Jail, they were brought to the jail on Friday morning. Kathmandu District Court ordered their detention on Thursday night.
The public prosecutor's office made separate indictments of 50 and 11 people including Prasai and filed a case on 11th June according to Section 32 of the Civil Criminal Procedure Code, 2074. Among them, 11 people have already been released on bail under criminal charges. The court made this decision after the statements of the 50 people present and the closed debate.
RPP Senior Vice President Ravindra Mishra, RPP General Minister and Member of Parliament Dhavalshamsher Rana and 11 people who were missing during the attendance period are not in touch now. Mishra and Jabara were not present in the court and the court kept them as fugitive defendants and started the process for arrest warrant. Earlier, the police has already initiated the process of legal action against those who fail to appear. For those who have been ordered to be released on bail, a bail of Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh has been demanded.
The government filed a case against 50 people for treason, criminal nuisance, duty killing, killing industry and organized crime . A case has also been filed in the Children's Court against four children involved in the violent demonstration.
Avenues television journalist Suresh Rajak and 29-year-old Savin Maharjan of Kirtipur-4 were killed when the Tinkune protest turned violent, while 20 people were injured in police firing.
3 people who were injured in the shooting are still undergoing treatment . Rebecca Khatri of Udaipur who was shot in the thigh, Dilliprasad Luintel of Bhojpur who was shot in the stomach and Ramhari (Rhythm) of Kavre who was shot in the arm are undergoing treatment. According to the police data, 56 houses, institutions and offices were vandalized and set on fire during the demonstration.
