Elections for the new leadership of the All Nepal National Independent Student Union (ANERASWIU), a student organization close to the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), will be held today. Madhav Dhungel, a member of the Convention Presiding Board, informed that the schedule of elections will be held from 8 am to 4 pm.

Voting will be done by electronic machines. According to him, the final list of candidates will be published on Wednesday and the work of entering the names of the candidates into the electronic machine has been completed. Prakash Poudel and Sujan Kadaria have nominated for new leadership in the 24th National Congress. Vikas Shrestha, Rajkumar Dhakal, Bharatsingh Dhami, Dharmendra KC, Ganesh Bahadur Shahi are candidates for one open vice-president.

Similarly, Sujitha Dhital, Anjana Sivakoti, Bhavani Bajgain and Aarti Bhattarai have nominated for a woman vice-president. RK Romesh, Deepak Dhami and Sunil Kandel have nominated for the post of General Secretary. Samik Badal, the outgoing president of ANERASWAVIU, informed that voting is going to be done by electronic machine in order to make it faster and remove the hassle of paper ballots.
