On Thursday, one person was killed in a vehicle collision on the Bagmati section of East-West Highway located in Chandrapur-1 of Rautahat. Locals blocked the highway after the incident. The administration is active to clear the traffic jam for almost 5 hours. Passengers have to suffer during summer when the highway is closed.
The police said that they are investigating the type of vehicle that hit. The police said that they are examining the CCTV footage to find the vehicle involved in the collision. The vehicle fled after hitting the pedestrian.
35-year-old Buddha Jimba of Chandrapur-1, Mangalpur died in a car collision. The area police office Chandranigahpur has informed that the vehicle hit the highway while leaving the house around 4/5 in the morning. Zimba died on the spot. After the news of the accident, a police team reached from the area police office Chandranigahpur.
When the police tried to collect the body bond, the locals blocked it. The police said that the body was not allowed to be picked up after that. After the incident, the relatives of the deceased blocked the East-West highway. A large number of vehicles are stuck on the road due to traffic jams. DSP Rajkumar Rai of the area police office said that efforts are being made to clear the jam by addressing the demands of the victims. .
