Maoist Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that the people's growing trust in Maoists will not be allowed to deviate like in 2064. Addressing the party's third conference in Pokhara Metropolitan City on Tuesday, he made it clear that he will learn from past weaknesses and move forward with a new campaign in the future.
"I have come to know that the people are returning to 064, they feel that only the Maoists can address our issues, our rights and interests properly," he said. Instead, we will launch a new campaign by uniting all the honest, progressive and revolutionary forces.
He admitted that the immense support received by the Maoists in the previous elections could not be maintained. "We have fallen from the first power to the third, that was our weakness," he said, "I myself must take responsibility as a signatory of the peace process and a leader to announce the republic."
"Yesterday's dream friends are returning to the Maoist center again," he said, "This is not just party unity, but the beginning of a new movement and a new revolution." He also warned that the Maoist-led government has taken the initiative to solve the squatter problem and will take to the streets if necessary. "If necessary, we will fight not only in the parliament, but also on the streets and government fronts," he said. In the
program, Central Secretariat member Kiran Thapa (Amod) left the NESP (New Power) led by Baburam Bhattarai and entered the Maoist center. Along with him, 14 Maoists including leaders of Gandaki province of New Shakti, Shambhu Khati, Lakshmi Khati, Kaski president Raju Chhetri entered the center. President Dahal welcomed them
