The National Assembly has passed the Watercraft (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081. In today's meeting of the Assembly, the proposal to pass the bill put forward by the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, was passed unanimously.
Prior to that, the meeting had unanimously approved the proposal that 'The Watercraft (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081 should be discussed with the report of the Legislative Management Committee'. MPs Suresh Kumar Ale Magar, Rukmini Koirala, Taraman Swar, Dr. Beduram Bhusal and Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma participated in the discussion on the proposal.
Answering the questions raised during the discussion on the proposal, Minister Dahal expressed his belief that the presented bill will pave the way for the operation of vessels in internal waterways and Nepal's access to the sea through waterways.
The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on Friday 30th of June at 1:15 pm.
