The Dalit Round Match Conference will be held in Kathmandu from 30th of May. The organizers of the National Dalit Goal Match Conference held a press conference on Saturday, stating that the oppression of the Dalit community has been increasing in recent times and that the conference was organized to prevent and liberate it. The conference will be held at Pragya Foundation in Kathmandu until June 1.
Nirmal Bishwakarma, the coordinator of the conference, said that although round match conference is a successful method that has been practiced in the world environment, it will be the first for Nepal. Reviewing the centuries-old oppression of the Dalit community and the effort or struggle to get rid of it, Coordinator Vishwakarma informed that there will be a debate on 3 main agendas including fully proportional representation in state power, share in state resources and reform of religion. Rajesh Mayal Vick (Agni Shikha), Secretariat Member and Spokesperson of the
conference said that people from all 7 provinces and 77 districts of the country are coming to Kathmandu for the conference. He expressed his belief that the conference will be a milestone for the liberation of Dalits.
Rajesh Nepali, a member of the secretariat of the original organizing committee of the National Dalit Golmech Conference, reviewed the 10-year implementation of the 2072 Constitution created by the Constituent Assembly and the seven-decade-long Dalit movement, and said that there is a need for an ideological and innovative movement.
