The Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey, has insisted that even if the union government intervenes in the ride-sharing regulations, it will not back down from its implementation. Addressing the meeting of the Provincial Assembly on Sunday, he said that it appears that there has been an interference with the rights of the province.
I have nothing to say about interference with the rights of the provincial government. If we look at it from a certain point of view, there has been an interference," he said. That's right. There has been an intervention.
He said that since the Constitution provides for coordination and cooperation between the three levels of government, he has accepted the request of the Union Government accordingly. Our constitution says that there will be coordination and cooperation between all the three governments. Therefore, for some time, i.e. for one month, the request of the federal government has been cooperated according to the spirit of the constitution. However, the government will not back down from the step of cooperation, he said.
After one month, he said, registration, renewal and regulation will be carried out according to the provisions of the ride sharing regulations.
The Gandaki state government published the Ride Sharing (Regulation and Management) Regulations, 2082 in the gazette on May 1. The public transport businessmen had started protesting against the regulation of renting out vehicles with red number plates against their purpose, saying that their investment was neglected. After that, the provincial government decided to postpone the implementation of the regulations for a month on May 20 last year, saying that it would hold talks with the businessmen.
