Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been briefed by the officials of the Land Problem Solution Commission about the progress of the work done by the commission so far.
In the discussion held at the Prime Minister's Residence, Baluwatar, the commission informed that it is working in collaboration with all three levels of authorities, including the identification of landless Dalits, squatters and unorganized residents, data collection, verification, measurement mapping, dispute resolution and land registration and distribution of evidence.
In a discussion with the Minister of Lands, Law, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Balram Adhikari, the Chairman of the Commission, Hari Prasad Rizal, informed that a standard has been prepared for other citizens who have not received residence or government land for 10 years, and in the case of landless, squatters and unorganized residents, they must have been living on government, public, or private land for at least 10 years.
Commission officials said that if the bill to amend some Nepalese laws related to land is passed, it will be easier to work. Prime Minister Oli expressed his belief that the bill under consideration in the Parliament will be passed soon and instructed the commission to carry out the identification of landless Dalits, squatters and unorganized residents in a planned and rapid manner.
