The 23rd annual report of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives has been passed. Chairman Hrishikesh Pokharel informed that the report was passed in today's meeting of the committee and will now be presented to the House within five days after the committee secretariat makes linguistic corrections.
The meeting has directed not to proceed with the agreement without clarifying the complaints received that some manufacturing companies were included in the bid by submitting fake documents in connection with Jagdulla Hydropower Company.
Similarly, it has been decided to hold a national workshop seminar in Kathmandu on Ashad 9 and 10 with the participation of people's representatives from all three levels regarding the Beruju exemption. The seminar will be attended by the chairpersons and secretaries of the Public Accounts Committees of all provinces, experts, representatives of the Auditor General's Office, municipalities and the Federation of Rural Municipalities.
Chairman Pokharle informed that the seminar is being held with the objective of obtaining information about the overall situation from the local level to the federation on the Beruju exemption and seeking opinions on how to move forward in the coming days.
The meeting has approved the request of the Bhairahawa International Airport Monitoring Committee to conduct on-site observation for further study.
Suggesting that the government make preparedness and response efforts more efficient and systematic as the weather is expected to be somewhat more challenging this year, the committee has directed farmers to make proper arrangements to avoid shortage of chemical fertilizers for the upcoming rice crop.
