A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court asking for an injunction not to stop or strike in 25 sectors, including transport, under any circumstances. In the writ filed by advocate Bimal Pokharel, a hearing has been set for Wednesday.

According to the Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court, Nirajan Pandey, the National Federation of Nepal Transport Professionals as well as the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Home Affairs have been made opponents. It is mentioned in the writ that the transportation sector has been closed against the law as a violation of the fundamental rights of the general public.

It is mentioned in the writ petition that the transportation businessmen are violating the order of the court as everyone is aware that the strike cannot be done in the essential areas. "The court has also ordered not to close in essential areas." Striking in defiance of court orders is also an act of contempt of court. This has seriously undermined the rule of law and compliance with court orders and violated the law," the writ petition said, adding that a nationwide strike based on the general demand of a certain area is immoral and a criminal act. The strike is aimed at imposing a syndicate in the transport sector and the act is against the law.'

It is also written in the writ petition that the transport business has been closed to impose a syndicate . "Transport businessmen are trying to kill the competition and they are also trying to stop the use of technology and make black market, syndicate and illegal income". It has also weakened the country's economy,' the writ petition states, 'because the means of public transport have been completely closed since the morning of 19th June 2052, the life of the common citizens of the country has been disrupted, the fundamental right to movement, movement, occupation and employment as provided for in Article 17 of the Constitution has been deprived and the daily life of the common people has been disrupted. An interim order should be issued in the name of the opponents to resume the means immediately.'

The government published in the gazette on 28th of November 2082, stating that 25 different sectors, including banks, air, public transport, drinking water, hospital health centers, pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution, transportation and storage of daily consumables, internet, etc., are prohibited from striking, the writ petitioner has demanded that a no-strike be issued under any circumstances in the future.
