Negotiations have started between the government and the transport industry. Ravindra Acharya, the information officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, informed that the negotiation team formed under the leadership of Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Krishnaraj Panth, and the transport industry have started talks.
Earlier today, a meeting was held with Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar and a negotiation team was formed under the leadership of Panth. Today, transport businessmen stopped driving vehicles in protest against the 'ride sharing' regulations issued by the Gandaki state government. Because of this, people's lives have been affected since morning.
In the valley, shared buses are operating on a small scale. Passengers were waiting for the bus on the road as they could not find any means of transport. Transport businessmen have also formed a nine-member negotiation team.
Saroj Sitaula, senior vice-president of the National Federation of Nepal Transport Professionals and a member of the negotiation team, informed that a nine-member committee has been formed to negotiate with the government and the negotiations have started.
