The residents of Bhojpur Municipality-6 Bhangeri have become comfortable after the construction of a concrete irrigation canal. Farmers who have been suffering from water problems for years have been relieved after the construction of a paved canal at a cost of 5.3 lakhs with labor donation on the initiative of the ward.

Ward president Shailendra Karki informed that Odare-Bhandare irrigation canal was constructed here with the cost sharing of central government, state government, Swiss government and local government. According to him, the construction of 923 meters of irrigation canal has been completed here from the budget received in partnership.

'The farmers here had a lot of problems due to the lack of irrigation canals', he said, 'We were targeting this area and demanding irrigation canals many times. After a lot of hard work, we have succeeded in building the bridge. This has directly benefited the farmers here.'

Ward president Karki said that the irrigation facility will reach 500 plantation areas of about 50 to 60 households in winter and spring. He said that since there is a lot of fertile land here, the construction of irrigation canals will help in agricultural production.

Rudra Bahadur Koirala, a local resident, said that the construction of irrigation canals has made farming easier. He says that after the construction of Odare, Bhandare Kulo, the problem of irrigation for generations has ended. He said that after the construction of the canal, it is possible to bring water from the Odare river and cultivate it in time.

'The problem of not having irrigation canals is not feasible', he said, 'We had to rely on sky water for agriculture. It was a problem to keep the fields and seeds. Because of the water, there were fights with the neighbors every day. Now that the irrigation canal has been built, it has become easier for us. We have managed to cultivate in time. After a long time, the dream of an irrigation canal has been fulfilled. We are very happy. Local farmer Rita Koirala said that the construction of the

tunnel will facilitate the cultivation of vegetables and cash crops in winter along with paddy cultivation. He said that after the construction of the well, a situation has been created in which water can be brought from the river to the fields for cultivation in 10 minutes.  She said that the work done on the initiative of

ward has made the daily life of farmers easier. He said that the expansion of irrigation has added energy when the fields are becoming barren due to lack of irrigation.

Pradeep Tamang, chairman of Kulo Nirman Consumer Committee, said that after the completion of the construction work, the water supply was started. He says that the expansion of irrigation facilities in his village has increased his enthusiasm. He said that the construction of Kulo has put an end to the situation where farmers have to look at the sky for farming during drought.

'There were many problems in the construction of this tunnel due to the geographical difficulty', he said, 'There was also a lot of risk as the tunnel had to be expanded from the bottom. Together with all the consumers, we have completed the construction on time. We have been facilitated in the construction of irrigation canals.'
