Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurasia has said that the government has introduced a bill to prevent undisciplined work by lawyers.
During the preliminary discussion on the Nepal Legal Practitioners Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081, at the meeting of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee under the House of Representatives held at the Singha Darbar on Monday, Minister Chaurasia said that the bill provides for action if a legal practitioner colludes with a party other than his party or discloses secrets and information to others.
Minister Chaurasia said that there is a provision in the bill to take action, including license suspension, if lawyers are found to be doing undisciplined work.
'In the bill, it is arranged that the fee charged by the advocates will be taken transparently through the financial institution . Efforts have also been made to prevent undisciplined actions by legal professionals. Efforts have been made to control the indiscipline of any legal practitioner by colluding with another party other than his side or passing on any secret matter or information to others,' Minister Chaurasia said, 'If a legal practitioner does so, his license will be suspended, action will be taken and illegal behavior against legal practitioners will also be dealt with.' Minister Chaurasia also informed that the old arrangement to be a senior advocate in the
bill has been continued.
