Experts have said that important materials of the Stone Age have been found in Raimandal and Patu areas of Bardibas Municipality-3 of Mahottari. During the investigation, the expert team conducted a study within an area of 7.5 square kilometers from Ratu River West, Vhabsi River East, Gouridanda of Bardiwas-3 and the part of Vabsi River that turned to the north and Raimondaldanda to the south.
Dr. Manjil Hazari, an expert of the investigation team and Bhaskar Gyawali, an expert of the Archeology Department, have made the findings of the study conducted since last Saturday among the stakeholders of Bardiwas.
'This is a large area of the country where Mesolithic weapons and tools have been found,' expert Gyawali said, 'This has added a new chapter to understanding and studying Mesolithic history and human civilization.' Archaeologists and geologists have concluded that this can be developed as the main heritage site of the nation. Gyawali said that now the Nepal government needs to take immediate steps to preserve this area.
expert team found here 25 types of stone tools including 7 types of tools used to make 18 different weapons and tools and materials. Dr. Hazari said that stone weapons including daggers, khukuri, khunda, ghuyatro and tools such as chino, gal, mungro were found in the materials obtained. According to Dr. Hazari, these tools and weapons are used in various fields of work. "This is an important achievement for the discovery of ancient human civilization," he said, "After the Stone Age, iron and other metal tools and weapons began to be made, but these new tools and weapons are a continuation of the stone tools and weapons in terms of shape, type and utility." Dr. Hazari believes that following the study of German researcher Guden Kerwins in the 1980s, new facts will be discovered gradually.
today Four and a half decades ago, in the 1980s, the German explorer and geologist Gooden Curvins' study opened the door to new research about this place, according to the expert team. "The first interest was raised by Kervins's exploration here for more than a decade," said geologist Gyawali, "now we are following his study report."
In the book "Prehistoric Cultures in Nepal" published by Curwins after the exploration here, it is mentioned that there was a factory for making tools and weapons in the Middle Stone Age in Patu and Raimondal areas. Despite the publication of Curwin's work, there was no interest in further research on the subject. About two years ago, 10 social organizations under the leadership of Bardibas Industry and Commerce Association submitted the report of a trip to the federal, provincial and local governments to investigate the tourism potential of the Chure area.
In the current fiscal year 2081/82, after the central and state governments addressed the budget for Ratu Raimondal archaeological study, the Department of Archeology has now explored the readiness of the Culture and Tourism Promotion Committee of Bardibas Municipality.
said that the results of the study and exploration done by the expert team this time will be delivered to the Department of Archeology and kept in the National Museum. Earlier, some of the tools and weapons found by Curwins have been exhibited in the museum by the department.
After the conclusion of the expert team, the residents of Bardibas have pointed out that there should be more initiatives by the three levels of government and the Department of Archeology to continue the study and exploration of this area . 'Now this exploration work should continue, more plans should be made about the previous work,' said Sudarshan Ghimire, a leading social activist who is a resident of Bardibas-3 Patu, 'This is showing our great potential.'
The head of the city, Prahlad Kumar Kshatri, said that after the archeology department's team announced the findings of the investigation, the previous work will now proceed in coordination with the state and central government and the archeology department.
