In the politics of Sudurpaschim UML, for about a decade and a half since 2050, there was a situation like 'UML means Bhim Rawal and Bhim Rawal means UML'. The number of supporters following the same political agenda of Rawal was also high. But towards the latter part of his life, his political mood has changed.

Rawal, who is also making a good impact in national politics, has been removed from UML due to his criticism of wrongdoings within the party and his challenge to President KP Sharma Oli.

Rawal's options were limited after he was expelled from UML. CPN-UML expelled Rawal from Achham Constituency-1 on 10th of January 2008 after winning three times and losing twice. After being expelled from the party, he announced the creation of an alternative political organization.

On 17th January 2008, Kathmandu held a press conference and announced the 'Matrubhoomi Jagran Abhiyan'. But the enthusiasm that Rawal had shown in the beginning, lately, the response has been increasing. 

After announcing Matrubhoomi Jagran Abhiyan, he reached home district Achham in the first week of January. After coming to Achham for about a month, he organized gatherings in various places, held meetings and organized his supporters . During that time, he also ran in other hilly districts of Far West. In Achham, there was a wave of people abandoning UML and joining Rawal's campaign.

About 3,000 of the seven thousand organized members of the UML have left the UML and joined the Matrubhoomi Jagran Abhiyan being conducted by Rawal, claim activists close to Rawal . A gathering was also organized in Dhangadhi in the last week of January.

After returning from the Far West, he migrated to India, where there is a large number of Far Westerners, to expand the campaign. He addressed the gatherings held in Mumbai, Pune, Baisur and other places in India and met them.

After returning from India, he was not seen in public activities on 18th Chait to pay tribute to Kamal Koirala. Apart from that, they were not seen in public events. He did not do any public activity for about two months since March.

Rawal says that the activities of the Matrubhumi Jagran Abhiyan have been stopped for some time due to the agitations that have arisen in the national politics. "Meanwhile, the national politics was stirred up due to the teachers' movement, the movement of the institutionalists, the demonstration of the Samajwadi Front," Rawal said, "Meanwhile, I have met in various places including Nawalparasi, Devdah of Rupandehi, Lamhi, Banke, Kailali, Toli". Internal discussions and meetings with people from different fields are continuous.

This week he has reached Achham again via Kailali. During this, Rawal organized a gathering at Ghodaghodi in Kailali. Apart from that, Rawal said that they had also met and discussed in Chaumala, Attaria and Dhangadhi of Kailali. "As the planting season has started and the rainy season is about to start, the gatherings and other activities may be stopped for some time," Rawal said.

Rawal says that he is making rapid preparations for the party announcement and is clear about it. Two weeks ago, Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachand) offered cooperation to Bhim Rawal while addressing a meeting in Achham under the Maoist Madhyapahari Lokmarg Pushpalal Marg Jagran Abhiyaan with the people.  In the

meeting, Prachanda said, "While coming here, I saw Bhim Rawal's contact office on the way. He had spoken to him on the phone only yesterday." I wonder why you are wandering elsewhere . Come, let's not waste time, let's sit down and talk, let's cooperate. Rawal commented on Prachanda's statement as a political courtesy expressed when he was in trouble.

How much difference will it make to UML when Rawal is in opposition?

Although Rawal was expelled from the party by UML a few months ago, he was almost not involved in party activities after the party's Chitwan convention.

During the election of 079, the distance with the party leadership was further stretched after the party center did not give him a ticket despite being a single recommendation from Achham Constituency No. 1 .

From that time, there were speculations that UML would be pushed due to Rawal in Far West. How much is due to Bhim Rawal being disaffected is a matter of study but in that election the UML suffered a severe setback in the Far West.

Only two of the 16 constituencies of the Union and three of the 32 constituencies of the state could win direct elections. There were many who interpreted it as the direct or indirect cause of the attack on Bhim Rawal. UML workers also admit that they have suffered due to Bhim Rawal's inaction or non-cooperation. 

At this time, it is almost certain that after separating from UML, it will be more shock to the UML after formally joining the separate campaign and party building political journey. Meanwhile, Sudurpaschim UML is divided into Chiraichira and Gutaigut. One leader is not accepting another leader .

There is extreme disharmony and power struggle between the current top leaders in Far West, who are Central Secretary, Lekhraj Bhatt, Damodar Bhandari and Karna Bahadur Thapa. Karn Thapa, who is open in loving that Vidya Bhandari should be the next president, is still commenting that Bhim Rawal should be kept in the party . But for Bhatt and Bhandari, it has been like a high school without Rawal . According to UML workers, neither Bhandari believes Bhatt nor is Bhatt confident about Bhandari. 

Leader Rawal estimates that the conflict between factions and sub-factions within the UML will intensify in the coming days. "There is extreme hostility towards honest workers within the UML". "I see that it will soon lead to an explosion in one way or another," says Rawal, "The patriots within the UML will stand together." "Even though the top level leaders of UML are not open about the Matrubhoomi Jagran Abhiyan, discussions and preparations are going on internally from many angles," Shah said. It is clear that UML will be shocked as a large part of those who join Rawal's campaign or party are UML's leaders and workers.'

But some UML leaders claim that Bhim Rawal cannot do much damage to UML in the coming days. Tilak Kunwar, vice president of UML Achham, says, "Bhim Rawal should have been in UML, it was a different thing." But now the party will not be affected, it has been weakened as much as it was done, the effect is over," Vice President Kunwar said, "In the election of 2079, Rawal's entire power was mobilized against the UML and there was some impact. Now his condition is deteriorating day by day. The support that was shown towards him when he left the party, is not the same now.'
