Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that for world peace, stability and harmony, it is necessary to increase understanding between different cultures and civilizations.

During her visit to China, while addressing the fourth dialogue program on exchange and mutual learning between civilizations held in Dunhuang, Gansu Province as the main speaker, she mentioned that there is a beautiful garden of different cultures in the world where various ethnic groups, languages ​​and cultural confluence coexist. 

Former President Bhandari said that the dialogue held in the world context is important in the context of various conflicts that have political, security, economic, ideological, ethnic and cultural reasons.

The fourth dialogue organized by the China International Cooperation Association and the People's Government of Gansu Province to speed up the implementation of world civilization by imbibing the original spirit of "Silk Road"  Former President Bhandari addressed. On that occasion, she mentioned that the confluence point of the North-South Silk Road branches is the best place for holding a dialogue on Dunhuang Civilizations.

Former President Bhandari said that with the visionary approach and pioneering initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI) aims to revive, expand and renew the ancient Silk Road by promoting global connectivity and economic cooperation. He said that the main goal of the BRI initiative is to expand roads, railways, ports, pipelines and digital infrastructure across Asia, Africa and Europe. 

Former President Bhandari recalled the historic visit of Chinese President Xi to Nepal in October 2019 and said that at that time the two countries agreed to transform the Nepal-China relationship into a strategic partnership for development and prosperity.
