A bilateral meeting was held between Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba and Foreign Minister Wang Yi of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong on Friday. At the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang, the meeting was held between Minister Rana, who is in the Special Administrative Region of China in Hong Kong to participate in the signing ceremony of the Convention on the Establishment of an International Organization for Arbitration as an observer country, and the Chinese Foreign Minister.

During the cordial meeting, Nepal-China relations, mutual interests, common interests and concerns, as well as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic relations, which both countries are celebrating this year, were discussed.  During the

meeting, Minister Rana mentioned the importance of Nepal's relationship with China and thanked the Chinese government and the Chinese people through Foreign Minister Wang for the cooperation and coordination China has been providing in the economic and social development of Nepal as a good friend. Also, Minister Rana said that Nepal expects the continuation of China's cooperation in various fields including economic, technological, technology transfer and direct foreign investment in Nepal in the coming days.

On that occasion, Minister Rana reiterated that Nepal has always remained committed to the one-China policy and clarified that Nepal is adamant that Nepali land will not be used against China.

Minister Rana especially thanked the Chinese government for the representation from China in the Everest dialogue recently concluded by Nepal. Also, during the meeting, while discussing the high-level visits between Nepal and China for the last few years, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's official visit to China last December and the implementation of agreements and agreements reached on that occasion were also discussed.

This year, as Nepal and China are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Minister Dr. Rana also invited Chinese Foreign Minister Wang to visit Nepal on this occasion. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Minister Rana also said during the meeting that since 2025 is celebrated as the Year of Visiting Nepal, Nepal is willing to welcome more Chinese tourists to Nepal this year.  During the

meeting, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang congratulated the Government of Nepal through Minister Rana for the successful completion of the Everest Dialogue organized by Nepal recently. He said that China is ready to cooperate with Nepal in the future in the field of reducing climate change and its effects and protecting the environment.

He said that China's support to Nepal will continue in the future and that through the international organization on arbitration that will be established in coordination with China, it will be possible to proceed with coordination with Nepal in the future. 

Foreign Minister Wang requested the Government of Nepal through Minister Rana to proceed with the implementation of agreements and agreements reached during Prime Minister Oli's visit to China. Also, Minister Rana's Secretariat said that he will visit Nepal after accepting the invitation given by Minister Rana to visit Nepal. 

Minister Wang praised the programs that are currently being carried out under the leadership of Minister Rana in Nepal's diplomatic field and also extended a special invitation to Minister Rana on behalf of the Chinese government to participate in the World Women's Leadership Forum.
