A mother and 2 daughters were gang-murdered on Wednesday morning in Milijuli Path, Butwal sub-metropolitan city-11. According to District Police Office Rupandehi, 34-year-old Deepa Basyal, her daughters 7-year-old Sneha and 4-year-old Himani Basyal were killed.
Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Rupandehi Pradeep Bahadur Chhetri said that 35-year-old Sujan Koirala, Deepa's ex-husband, called them to his house and killed them with a sharp weapon. Koirala police has been taken under control.
According to the police, Deepa and Sujan were married in 069. But in the same year, Sujan went to jail for the murder of his brother Sudeep Koirala. After that, Sujan and Deepa's relationship got cold. Deepa divorced Sujan in 072 years.
After the divorce, Deepa got married to Shankar Dhakal from Kawasoti in East Nawalparasi. Two daughters are from Dhakal. Dhakal is currently in Dubai for foreign employment.
Deepa, who works as a health worker in Palpa, came to Butwal on Tuesday for a relative's wedding. That's when her ex-husband Sujan called her home. Deepa and her two daughters were staying with Sujan on Tuesday night at Koirala's house in Butwal sub-metropolis-11, Milijuli Path.
According to the police, Sujan killed Deepa and her daughters by using a sharp weapon, a knife and a hammer, around 4 am on Wednesday. Koirala had called a man to his house to do some work at around 6 am saying that he needed to repair the kitchen of his house. Then the issue of murder came out. The police took Sujan into custody from home and proceeded with the investigation Police Superintendent Chhetri said.
According to the neighbours, Koirala, who was jailed for the murder of his brother, came out after 8/9 years in jail after receiving pardon from the President on Constitution Day. Since then, he has been dealing in the goods manufactured in the prison. The police said that they are understanding with the Palpa police about his stay in prison and pardon . Inside Sujan's house, prison-made materials are stored everywhere.
Police have taken all three bodies to Lumbini Regional Hospital for post-mortem. It has been revealed that Deepa and Sujan have been meeting each other for the past 1 year. According to the police, an investigation is being conducted as to why Sujan, who appears to be mentally normal, committed the murder.
Deepa's relatives said that Deepa was coming to her niece's wedding in Butwal, but they did not know about her coming on Tuesday. She was working at the Basic Health Center in Tansen, Palpa. Relatives say that he had come to Butwal and came to the scene on Wednesday morning after learning that such an incident had taken place.
