Vinod Kumar Lal Kayastha, the personal secretary of Madhesh Pradesh Sabha member Saroj Kumar Singh, has been arrested by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority.

According to the authority, the amount deposited in the account of various consumer committees was withdrawn by Singh through his private secretary Kayasth and kept in his and his wife's account. It is the opinion of the authority that the amount has been deposited in the account of Kayastha and misused government funds. 

65-year-old Kayastha, who lives in Janakpur sub-metropolitan city-9 Saraswati toll, was arrested from Janakpur this afternoon and further investigation is underway, said Devi Prasad Thapalia, assistant spokesperson of the commission. According to the Authority, the investigation has been carried forward by seizing the electronic equipment used by the State Assembly Member Singh.
