Senior Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has commented that the Prime Minister is not allowed to make statements that provoke citizens. Koirala said this while taking a dig at Prime Minister Oli's instructions to the workers to occupy Kathmandu before the royalists started their agitation on the day of the Republic Day on 15th May.
Addressing a program held in Pokhara, Oli instructed the activists to occupy Kathmandu Valley from 10 am to 2 pm on May 15. Speaking at a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union district branch Panchthar on Sunday, Koirala claimed that it is another example of irresponsibility for a responsible person and position like the Prime Minister to instruct workers to occupy the capital.
'Prime Minister is in charge of running the country according to law, he should not excite the citizens like this, such irresponsible expressions will, on the contrary, end up killing the monarchists,' he said. He was of the opinion that the Prime Minister should be restrained and move the country forward rather than saying whatever comes to his mouth.
Koirala said that Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, who was embroiled in the recent visit visa case, has resigned and supported the investigation process. "Sitaulaji and I have different opinions on this issue, both of us have personal opinions, the party's official opinion will be made public after the central committee meeting on Monday," he said.
