Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that the Maoist wave is becoming stronger in the country. In the public dialogue program organized under the Madhyapahari Lokmarg Public Awakening campaign held in Pokhara on Saturday, he signaled the return of the Maoist movement and called upon the people to prepare for a new revolution.
President Dahal said, "The country is becoming a Maoist country." What I have felt in the Madhyapahari Lokmarg, Terai-Madhesh campaign is that the country is becoming a Maoist like 2064. The old people, the young and the young, children all have a feeling of being devoted to Maoist again.
He claimed that the country will become Maoist again in the coming year and the Maoist Center will be the first party in the upcoming elections. "If we can explain to the people, then in the next one year, the whole country will become a Maoist party," he said, "Maoist Center will be the number one party in the next election." And then the basis of socialism will be built.
President Dahal, mentioning that there is a deep contradiction in the current electoral system and government structure, reiterated the idea that the constitution should be amended in favor of a direct executive president. He said, "After declaring a federal democratic republic, after ensuring the identity and rights of all classes and communities, we had already said that there should be a directly elected executive president for political stability. But due to the disagreement of Congress and UML, that provision could not be made in the constitution at that time. Now the time has come, the constitution should be amended with the consent of the people and that system should be brought in.
President Dahal claimed that only the Maoist center can do the work of laying the foundation of the socialist economy. "We have dreamed of preparing the basis of socialism through self-sustainable economy, agriculture-based industry, tourism promotion, herbal processing, etc. in a planned manner," he said.
According to him, the Maoist center is now in the process of preparing the basis of the socialist revolution. Even though the constitution states that the state is oriented towards socialism, there is ambiguity about what kind of socialism it is. Now the responsibility has come on the shoulders of the Maoist Center to give that clarity," he clarified. In the
program, he informed that he is going to reawaken the spirit of revolution in the people by establishing new relationships with the martyrs, missing and injured families. He said, "I request all comrades to do a deep self-examination. The political stability of the country, the end of corruption, and economic development are the responsibilities of our shoulders. With the conclusion of the
program, the first phase of the Madhyapahari Lokmarg public awareness campaign of the Maoist center has been postponed in Pokhara.
