The Piplamod section of Nagadhunga-Naubise road will be closed for 15 days from today. Traffic is going to be stopped from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM till May 25.
Keshav Prasad Ojha, the head of Nagadhunga-Muglin road eastern section, said that because the road construction in that section needs to be improved, traffic is being stopped.
The project has asked vehicles to use alternative routes during that period. The project has designated Sitapaila-Ramkot-Dharke road and Samakhusi-Tokha-Chhare-Trishuli (Vidur)-Galchi road as alternative routes for small and medium vehicles. Earlier also, the road was closed from 11 pm to 3 am from Baisakh 22nd to 31st.
Chief Ojha said that during that period, all the old tarred roads were demolished and now the roads will be closed and new tarred ones will be constructed. From today, the vehicles entering from Kathmandu will be stopped at Khanikhola and graveled first, and if water is not a problem, he claims that 1.8 kilometers of roads can be tarred within that period.
