Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that any employee can be investigated by the constitutional body at any time. Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, he insisted that since there are thousands of employees under the Ministry of Home Affairs, it would not set a good precedent for the minister to resign as soon as an investigation is conducted on any employee.

The Home Minister writer further said, 'There are thousand, lakhs of employees in the Ministry of Home Affairs. Any employee here can be investigated by the constitutional body at any time. Will all the ministers resign when that happens? Is that the same system? Is that possible? Therefore, if I say that false propaganda is being spread against me in a politically and planned conspiratorial manner.'

He said not only about the issue of 'visit visa' at the immigration of Tribhuvan International Airport, but also about financial irregularities in his political and public life. "The question that is being raised now is not only related to this, but if anyone proves that I have committed even one financial irregularity in my public and political life, I will resign from politics, not from my position," he said, "Therefore, false propaganda is being spread against me in a planned and conspiratorial manner." I have asked for time in the House of Representatives meeting on the 13th of June to give a detailed opinion on this matter.'

Earlier today, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also issued a press release saying that it has drawn serious attention to the fact that news has been published/broadcast linking the ministry's leadership with the incident at the Tribhuvan International Airport Immigration Office. In the statement, it is clarified that there is no involvement of the ministry and the leadership in any illegal or corrupt activities.
