Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Balram Adhikari has requested all local levels to complete the land classification work by the end of next June.

In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, while responding to the question raised during the discussion on the proposal that 'Bill, 2082 to amend some Nepal Acts related to land should be considered', the minister said that if the land is not classified within the specified time frame, various problems will appear.

'All municipalities have been asked to classify the land by the end of next June . If the classification is not done by that time, the lottery will be stopped . Buying and selling and shares are closed,' he said.

Minister Adhikari said that the land related bill has been introduced with the aim of facilitating the work related to real estate and to manage the landless, squatters and unorganized settlements and said that it will address the administrative problems related to land. Other laws have also been made and are gradually being made easier to work. This bill has been brought to remove some more problems in the law,' he said.

He clarified that now the local level has classified the land and said it is arable land and cannot be bought and sold for other purposes. Land Management Minister Adhikari clarified that there is no truth to the questions and doubts raised in the Parliament that the bill has come to help the land mafia and middlemen.
