With the aim of celebrating Republic Day, 2082 with grandeur, the main ceremony committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

In the meeting held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, Sinha Darbar, the ceremony committee presented by the Ministry of Home Affairs was approved with discussion on the day's programs.

In the original function committee, the Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers, Ministers of State, Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality, special category gazetted officers of Nepal Government, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Inspector General of Armed Police Force, Chief Investigation Director of National Investigation Department, Heads of Municipalities of Kathmandu Valley are members and Secretary of Home Ministry is member-secretary.

The meeting has also decided to celebrate the Republic Day on 15th of May on 14th, 15th and 16th of June every day in the evening with lamp lighting in all public bodies.

In this, committees and sub-committees have been formed covering central, state and local level governments, related bodies, private sector and organizations.

Similarly, programs have been scheduled at Nepalese embassies, diplomatic missions and consulates abroad.

The main program of June 15th will be held at Sainik Manch, Tundikhel organized by the original ceremony committee.

Prime Minister Oli called to celebrate the Republic Day in a grand manner to the masses and urged not to limit it to mere formality.

Similarly, they have also given instructions to end the situation where officials who are supposed to be ex-officio members of the main ceremony committee are absent from time to time.
