Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that no religion should be used to fulfill their political ambitions. Responding to the meeting of the House of Representatives today, Home Minister Akbar expressed the view that violent incidents cannot be excused under the guise of religion.
'It is not my intention to say that any religion is superior or less superior, as the arson and violence in the Tinkune incident is a criminal act, I request that the act not be seen in connection with any religion or faith,' the Home Minister said, 'Hinduism believes in non-violence, peace and brotherhood, that philosophy and ideal was not seen in Tinkune. Therefore, violence cannot be linked to religion. The matter of advocating monarchy in Tinkune is against the Constitution of Nepal, which cannot be considered appropriate in any matter.'
The Home Minister said that the necessary investigations and prosecutions are underway after arresting those involved in the incident
'I would like to express my commitment that whoever is involved in the criminal act will be brought to justice,' he said.
The minister-author informed that in that incident, Suresh Rajak, a journalist of Avenues Television, died in a private house and another person, Savin Maharjan, died of gunshot wounds while controlling the violent demonstration.
In addition, he also informed that necessary investigations and prosecutions are being carried out to arrest those involved in the vandalism and arson.
'The government is clear that the organizers of the violent protests should take responsibility for the burning of a domestically produced pharmaceutical company,' he said.
Stating that the investigation work is ongoing regarding the damage caused during the three-corner incident, the Interior Minister said that three of the people who were injured by bullets in the incident are currently receiving treatment and the rest have recovered and returned home.
'The government of Nepal is making arrangements for free treatment of the injured in the said incident,' he said, 'I request that other arrangements be made in accordance with the prevailing laws.'
Similarly, on the question regarding the delay in the implementation of the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the Giribandhu tea plantation in Jhapa, the minister informed that there was no respondent in the cases presented by the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the implementation of the order.
'I would like to request the implementation of the order dated 24 Jan 2080 from the constitutional bench of the honorable Supreme Court in the cases presented,' said the Interior Minister.
He mentioned that the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Home Affairs is always active in protecting and promoting the government's public property by implementing the Constitution of Nepal, laws and the judgments and orders of respected courts.
