The delegation of the European Union had a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. The meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar was attended by the Ambassador of the European Union to Nepal, Veronique Lorenzo, the Ambassador of Kathmandu and the Non-Resident Ambassador of India in New Delhi.
This is the first time that so many ambassadors of the European Union have come to Nepal at the same time for the Everest Dialogue held in Kathmandu from May 2nd to 4th. On the occasion of the
meeting, discussions were held on Nepal's stability, economic development, and cooperation for good governance, along with recalling the 51 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the European Union.
Prime Minister Oli informed that Nepal has gone through the stages of armed conflict, peaceful people's movement and peace talks and has gained momentum in the areas of economic development and good governance after the new constitution was issued by the Constituent Assembly.
He said that the two major parties involved in the country's political transformation, CPN UML and Nepali Congress, formed a government with the commitment of economic development and good governance, so Nepal's prosperity and employment Asked to expand investment for creation. He made it clear that there is no possibility of turning back from the federal democratic republican system achieved by the struggle of the people, so the future destination is the stability and prosperity of Nepal.
The European Union ambassadors supported Nepal's economic and social development efforts and said that cooperation will continue in the fields of education, infrastructure, health, green energy, information technology and climate change. They expressed their happiness that Nepal has started to finalize the transitional justice and asked them to keep the victims' cases in the center.
The ambassadors congratulated Nepal for the successful hosting of the Everest Dialogue. On the occasion of the meeting, Prime Minister's chief adviser Bishnu Prasad Rimal, high officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others participated.
