The investigation of the Three Kune incident is over, it will be made public in a few days: Human Rights Commission

The National Human Rights Commission has said that the commission has completed its investigation regarding the incident of March 15th.

After receiving the attention letter of the family of late journalist Suresh Rajak, who died in Tinkune incident, Manju Khatiwada, investigation officer of the commission informed that the investigation was completed quickly as the incident was a serious matter. She informed that the commission is preparing to publish the findings of the investigation within a few days. He said that the conclusion drawn from the

investigation and the obligations to be fulfilled by the state will also include suggestions on what to do with the families of the deceased and the injured. Sujan, the wife of journalist Rajak, who died during the protest, has requested the Commission for a fair investigation, suspecting that the incident was planned, conspiratorial or some other criminal act.

Commission's Investigation Officer Khatiwada's statement

Now we should do a fast track investigation rather than a regular investigation on the matter of the three-cornered incident. This is a serious matter that the Commission has taken seriously. The investigation was completed on Friday. It is being printed now. Perhaps in a couple of days we will be among the media. We saw what we got. And, we draw the attention of the state. We have prepared a report with suggestions on what the state should do for the families of the deceased and what should be done for the injured. The investigation has been completed. More than the human resources we have here, what kind of bullets have been fired, what kind of shrapnel has hit. After hiring two experts, a committee was formed and the committee prepared a report. It has taken some time as it is a subject that needs to be thoroughly researched. So we have completed the research, you will know in a couple of days. All I want to say is that we have completed the research work and we will bring it to the media in a couple of days. What should the state have done? Why didn't you do it? Why not? All that has to be relied on the medical report. We had a forensic doctor in our committee as we had to rely on his postmortem report and what the doctor said. So it depends on the doctor's analysis. It will be published today. This is a tragic incident. My condolences to everyone. The human rights commission always works with attention to ensure that the victim should get justice.
