Tried to influence the court by linking co-operative fraud with politics: Suryadarshan Peedit

In Pokhara High Court on Friday, Ravi Lamichhane and Chavi Lal Joshi's legal professionals have said that the court's standards, integrity and factual integrity and the administration of justice have been adversely affected. The Suryadarshan Savings Victims Struggle Committee issued a statement on Saturday and expressed regret that the savers were treated in such a way that they were grossly insulted.

The hearing of the High Court in Pokhara against the order of the Kaski court in the case related to cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering began on Thursday. The High Public Prosecutor's Office filed a petition demanding that seven people, including Lamichhane and Joshi, should be remanded in prison for remand.

Seven defendants also submitted a petition demanding to be released on a simple date. The hearing of the petition was moved four times and started from Thursday. Sushil Pant and Raman Shrestha, lawyers from Lamichhane and Joshi's side, requested for adjournment on Thursday, but the court did not accept it. On Thursday, two government lawyers argued.

On Friday, Pant and Shrestha objected to the court saying that their side was not informed about the hearing. Since March 22, Lamichhane and Joshi are incarcerated in Rupandehi Jail as per the order of the Butwal High Court in the Supreme Cooperative Fraud Case. The Pokhara High Court said that there is no official information that they are in detention. It is mentioned in the victim's statement that during the

hearing, legal professionals from Lamichhane and Joshi's side engaged in unwanted activities to cause more pain to the victim while the court process was proceeding.

"The cooperative fraud case, which is strictly linked to a cooperative, was always tried to make the court controversial and influenced by linking it with position, government and politics," the statement said, "We have strong objection to the act of humiliating the victim and depriving him of justice."

On Friday, the bench of Chief Justice Ratna Bahadur Bagchand and Judge Milan Rai of the High Court ordered that information about the ongoing trial should be disclosed to Joshi and that the hearing of the pending petition be scheduled for Sunday.
