Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has said that those who have turned to many sides cannot be brought into left-wing unity without correct ideas.
In a program organized today at Madannagar Balkhu on the occasion of the commemoration day of UML's then General Secretary People's Leader Madan Bhadari and Head of Organization Department Jivraj Ashrit, Prime Minister Oli insisted on the policy of bringing others to agree on right ideas and not unity for unity.
The tendency to make a difference by opposing the right thing has been appearing in the communist movement since history. Although there was no specific ideological difference, two lines of wrestling were fought on the basis of personal interests. There is also a tendency to divide the party and keep it unified for the sake of name," President Oli said. The idea of multi-party democracy of the people brought under the leadership of Madan Bhandari refuted the accusation against us that communists are autocratic. This idea has been established as a national policy not only for political democracy but also for economic, social and human rights issues. In this context, we will have to fulfill our national aspirations of a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali.' He also said that since there is a government under their leadership, the regression attempt to return the monarchy is impossible and unacceptable.
He urged the workers to unite and move forward with confidence as UML is ready to face any situation even though many elements have conspired to bring down the party by discrediting the leadership of UML.
UML is not a mere wish for progress, but taking a policy of active intervention. He mentioned that the movement has suffered due to right-wing, racism and anarchism in the world.
He said that in the past, when he led the government, it was a wrong practice to bring down the government due to the idolatrous elements within the party and to form the government by court order. Remembering that Janneta Bhandari was a political strategist who steered the communist movement according to the times, he said that when the communist movement in the world was collapsing, under the ideological leadership of Jabaj, he brought the party to a state of popularity and two-thirds. Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, UML Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, dependent wife Maya Gyawali and others participated in the
event. In the program, leaders and activists including President Oli paid tribute to the late leader.
