The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against 16 people and 2 companies, including the member of the House of Representatives from Sindhupalchok-2 and former minister Basnet, and 2 companies, on Thursday in a special court. Along with this, Basnet has been automatically suspended from the post of MP.
MP Top Bahadur Rayamazhi, who is also the secretary of UML, Ravi Lamichhane, who is also the chairman of RSWP, are under suspension after the case was filed in various criminal charges. Similarly, RPP MP Geeta Basnet is absconding.
